I'm sitting here next to the baby as he chills in his bouncy seat, and we're rocking out to Talking Heads from my iTunes library. Hubby is doing (God help us) touch-up painting in the nursery. It's a very low-key, but perfectly lovely, Friday night.

Here are some of my favorite photos taken (mostly by me, I think) over the past three years:

 

Well, it took forever, but the nursery is finally painted and furniture is nearly in. Here's what we did:

We took this poster:

and made it the centerpiece of our design. The poster has gray (the color of our carpet), orange, cream, white, and light blue in it. So we painted the ceiling and trim of the room white and painted three walls (including the jump walls at the ceiling) blue. Then we did an orange accent wall onto which we'll hang the poster. Here's a taste of the final product:

Since we're not finding out the sex ahead of time, I bought a few pieces for boy or girl and a couple unisex things. Whatever I end up not needing will be gifted to one of the many pregnant women I know who will have delivered a couple months before me.
